Hi Brian,
I read your article and immediately knew I needed to contact you. A very dear friend of my daughter was in a serious accident on October 21, 2007. His brain was swelling so severely that they had to remove the left side of his skull. He had bleeding, bruising and shearing all over his brain. He has come a long way and is now opening his eyes, does not consistently follow verbal commands. They removed his trach last week.
I know you are probably very busy person, but would love for you to meet him and his family or at least speak on the phone to his parents. He is currently in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital. I think you maybe the blessing we have been waiting for.
